Botulism: The name you've been assigned to look up has been out of date since before I was in med school. It's Clostridium botulinum. Botulism toxin is as deadly as any poison you'll find, and can be acquired preformed in food, or develop in an infected wound, or rarely be formed in the gut -- especially in a baby fed raw honey.
