Spotting is normal: Spotting is normal side effect of all hormonal contraception, whether pills, patches, implants or shots. If this worries you, go see your Family Doc, GYN, Planned Parenthood or whoever gave you shot. Don't forget to get next one on time. And make him wrap it up each & every time. Only condoms can lower risk of sexually transmitted diseases/infections.

Not Uncommon: Having no period or having slight spotting with DepoProvera between injections is not unusual. By your explanation I assume the blood is vaginal and no concern of urinary tract blood that might possibly indicate a urinary tract infection or some other problem.

Normal side effect: Unfortunately one of the most common side effects of depo is irregular bleeding. Another is weight gain. It's probably blood in your vagina that you see when wiping
