A member asked:

Can gallstones cause you to have a lot of pain both in upper and lower abdomen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nope: Pain from gb disease (biliary colic) is a noncramping, nonburning, pressure pain that comes on very quickly in the right- or midline upper abdomen. The pain may radiate around to the upper back & even the shoulder but never down to the lower abdomen. The pain typically lasts for an hour (or more). Nausea+/-vomiting are common. Of course, not everybody is wired the same--please see your dr.
