Surgery: depend what cause the ischemia and for how long the ischemia lasted if caught early we might be able to restore the circulation to the bowels by embolectomy. or by lysing the clot. if not surgery will allow the removal of all dead guts,but if the problem is the entire small bowel most likely that will not be compatible with life unless the patient lives on TPN total venous nutrition,which is hard.
