Vanishingly Rare: Although overall cases of malaria are increasing in the us the cases are principally 'imported' from those bringing it back from other countries: africa, americas, asia. In 2010, there were 1, 691 malaria cases in the states. A very few may have been passed by local mosquito from imported cases come home; or possibly from blood transfusions. Not altogether clear. Essentially native cases are nil.
