Happy to help: You sound like you have meralgia paresthetica, and amitryptiline is at best a modest intervention with bad side effects. Since you will require about 150 mg daily, you may get substantial anticholinergic responses. On the other hand, gabapentin or Lyrica (pregabalin) work better, but also have side effects. Spend some time with your doctor to discuss causation, various treatments, and the choice of drugs.
