Saline irrigations.: If the mucus is yellow, it may represent an infection of the nose, sinuses or nasopharynx (back of nose.) Saline irrigations may help. What is most important is to make a diagnosis of what is causing the yellow mucus. I have stated this over and over again on Health Tap; that you need to ask not what I can do but what is the diagnosis and then the appropriate treatment can be given.
