A member asked:

During my echocardiogram the nurse also scanned over my abdomen (pulse present). will the doc be able to confirm there is or isn't an ab. aneurysm?

If properly eval'd: Ultrasound of the abdomen is frequently used to screen, evaluate, and track abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Aneurysm: If they scanned the descending aorta, they will be able to determine the size and any distention. this finding would support a aneurysm, so the answer is yes.
