Stabbing pain?: You may have a variant of what are usually called stabbing headaches....except in this case the location of choice is behind your ear. Another possibility if the irritation of some small nerve twiglet behind your ear which for some reason is getting tweaked or stretched for some reason and then, it calls out to you....and you JUMP! See neurologist for further workup...maybe headache specialist.
