A member asked:

If my period is light, should i use tampons? or should i just stick with pads?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your preference: It depends on what you are comfortable with. There are a variety of different sizes and absorbencies to both pads and tampons. Some women find pads uncomfortable and prefer tampons for sports and swimming. Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours to prevent a complication called toxic shock syndrome. All tampon boxes include information about proper use in the box.
