A member asked:

I am scheduled for foot surgery on 5/29 and am having seasonal allergies. no fever or cough, just runny nose and sinus pressure. will they still do it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

When surgery is: Elective my preference is to have the patient "optimized" for surgery. Hence, I would prefer to have your sinus issues and runny nose resolved prior to the surgery so that it would not interfere in anyway. Having said that, it would be upto anesthesia if they wanted to proceed.
