Hordeolum: Do not pop.warm compresses 3x a day for 2weeks

Conservative is best: A hordeolum or stye is an infection of the eyelash follicle. Most resolve on their own with time. Try a warm, clean, moist washcloth compress 4 times daily. Drainage is only indicated when it "points" (about to burst). Antibiotics are reserved for spreading redness, swelling. If you pop/cut an internal stye, you may create a scar on your inner eyelid causing chronic discomfort.

Do not pop: Use warm compresses placed on site for 15 minutes four or more times per day for up to two weeks.. You can try OTC stye ointment which might help. If the hordeolum does not resolve in size and hardens into a chalazion; make an appointment with an Ophthalmologist for incision and curettage.
