A member asked:

Optometrist recommended sterilid for eye strain irritation, is this common?

Very uncommon: Topical steroids are not used for eye strain. Your best bet is to see an ophthalmologist, an md who is trained in all aspects of eye disease. Optometrists do a good job with glasses and contacts but are very limited otherwise and it sounds like you have found an unusual one.
