Pregnancy: only occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg. This occurs after ovulation, the egg being expelled at ovulation and being fertile for at the most 2 days. So there is a 1-2 day window for the sperm to fertilize the egg. Sperm can stay alive in the vaginal tract for up to 5 days. So if you know exactly when you ovulate and exactly when sperm is available you can determine if it is possible.

Yes!: While the efficacy that intercourse may result in a pregnancy varies at different time points during your cycle, don't ignore the fact that even a reduced chance of pregnancy is considerably (and possibly unacceptably) higher than with abstinence.
