See answer: If they are swollen slightly and not painful you need to monitor. However if they painful, reddened, swollen to point you cannot put your shoes on, you may have early cellulitis or sun burn and need to be seen. At your age you need to protect yourself from excessive sun exposure

R/O CELLULITIS: YES YOU SHOULD: Cellulitis is a superficial skin infection that can be caused after an prolonged sun exposure/abrasion or rupture of a boil . Keep the area clean and apply topical antibiotics. Seek prompt evaluation for potential need of oral antibiotics.F/U with your doctor if symptoms persist or worsen, oral antibiotics may be needed.
