Thyroid tests yes: your doctor is correct that you need thyroid test to monitor your thyroid function. If there are other medical reasons for the additional testing this would be up to her decision. You can discuss this with your physician or ask her to have you see a consultant to help, you can see an endocrinologist regarding the status of your thyroid
