Is it unusual to have withdrawal (anxiety) within 2 hours of 2 drinks, after 30 days of abstinence? no history of shakes or serious withdrawal.

Not withdrawal: These symptoms don't sound like withdrawal. You may be having anxiety, though, if deep down you are uncomfortable or upset about drinking after 30 days of abstinence. Hope this helps!

Body/Mind Connection: Your body/mind may be telling you something. 2 drinks/2 hours. Definitely consistent with alcohol metabolism process in terms of withdrawal. The anxiety may be from acute physiological sensitivity to alcohol after a period of abstinence AND/OR emotional/ psychological sensitivity to resuming alcohol use after period of abstinence. Bottom line: not unusual - limit alcohol use or skip it.

It is not withdrawal: Alcohol withdrawal develops in peple who drink daily and drink more than moderate amount of alcohol(>2-3 drinks daily). I would advise you not to use alcohol to relieve your anxiety. Go see your PCP; perhaps he can give you a mild tranquilizer for anxiety. In the meantime stay off alcohol.
