I have had rheumatoid arthritis for 10 years and my foot on side when applied pressure has extreme pain. will ice or heat work? and will ibuprofen?

Ice: Start with ice. Even ok to do some trial and error with heat as well, and go with whatever combination works best. Just 10-15' each time, 2-3 times per day . Regarding medications, its very hard to say what will work or not. I would avoid naprosyn (naproxen) if you are on steroids. As always, ask you doctor to find out for sure, he/she will know your current medications. Hope this helps!
