A member asked:

If you have had an echocardiogram with a ef of 50-55% at how many months is it smart to repeat the echocardiogram? to see the progress?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

?: 50-55% is normal, albeit on the low end of normal. If you're looking for a higher number, change would depend on the cause, whether it's reversible, and whether it's treated? In general, when I'm looking for a change in EF, I ask patients to repeat their echo in 6 months.
