OTC meds: If surgeon feels that trauma from surgery is minimal, it is preferable to recommend NSAID medications for pain control, like Ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen) for inflammatory pain control. 800mg of Ibuprofen >> Codeine for dental pain. If allergic to aspirin, nsaids, or taking blood thinners, you can opt for Acetaminophen (paracetamol). If you have pain following surgery, you should contact your surgeon.
