Can a ct chest w/cst. + 3d visualize the coronary arteries well? the connections of the coronary arteries?

Yes: The test is excellent for ruling out significant coronary disease. It's not so good for determining the severity of coronary disease in people with known disease or who have stents since the x-ray can't penetrate calcified deposits or metal well enough. But in healthy (non-calcified) vessels, it's very accurate.

The CT: can "see" the coronary CALCIFICATIONS and this is USEFUL INFORMATION! This is useful for determination of CARDIAC RISK but is NOT a way of determining coronary structures or "connections" Coronary arteriography is the only acceptable way of determining structure/function Hope this helps Dr Z
