Should a 90 year old with a broken tibia and poor circulation have surgery to correct it or will it heal on its own?

Depends: If displaced, open, unstable or comminuted the surgical choice may actually be the least risky over all as it may allow earlier mobilization. If closed, acceptably aligned, and multiple other risk factors then non surgical treatment may be the less risky option
