Can vs should: You can do it, but I would not recommend it. I would see an MD for an exam to determine the cause before treating with anything. May be a yeast infection.

Not a good idea: If you have vaginal itching, then you may have an infection. You could try an over the counter yeast cream like monistat, but if it does not resolve then see your doctor for an evaluation. If you need something for dryness use a non-oil based lubricant. Oil based lubricants can increase the risk of yeast infections.
