Dental lesion: Do you know any cause for this red bump? spicy foods? trauma? hot liquid burn? new toothpaste? The red bump you are talking about might be one of the larger taste buds that has become irritated that is on the back of your tongue. I would rinse with warm salt water and see if this helps. If the bump does not show signs of healing in 2 weeks, I would go see you dentist ASAP.

Have it looked at: May be broken or malposed tooth irritating gum. May be burned or scratched tongue rubbing against normal teeth. Go see your Dentist or an Oral Surgeon for evaluation.
