Type of alopecia: Some causes may be autoimmune, genetic, or viral. Treatment may not be needed. Find out the type of alopecia. If it is alopecia areata, there are topical steroids, puva, topical immune medications, and minoxidil. Talk to a doctor or a dermatologist.
