Generally, yes.: at least 50% of patients with IBS reported having had their first symptoms prior to age 35. The prevalence is 25% lower in patients who were 50 years age or older. This suggests that symptoms in some patients may improve over time. It is also about twice is common in women as in men. Good luck.
