Ask your Psychiatris: Seriously! Whether to continue, change or stop medications is best answered by your Psychiatrist (or Family Doc) after thorough discussion & evaluation. If you decide to stop, be prepared to restart if you starting feeling poorly again. Ask about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as adjunct therapy. I'm not a big fan of benzodiazepines like diazepam which is very addictive. Also makes depression worse.

Go slowly: Great to ask about stopping your anxiety meds, but first talk with your doctor to make sure this is the right time to do so. Then you'll need follow-up appointments to monitor your symptoms. Think slow tapering of one med at a time. It's not an "either-or" process. If anxiety returns, you can stay at a lower dose or go back to where you are now, but have your doctor supervise.
