Day 16: IF you are ovulating it should be on Day 16. The luteal phase of the cycle ( from ovulation until menses), is 14 days long. If you arent getting a positive test you might consider visiting your gyn on about day 21 for a confirmatory blood test.

Counting: First off, are you counting your cycles starting with Day 1 as the first day of your period and the last as the day before your next period? The best ways to identify your ovulation are 2 ways-1)take your basal body temperature every day and you're ovulating on the days your temperature increases slightly for 2-3 days,2)use ovulation kits from the drug store to track your LH surge. Hope that helps
