Remove Them: Upper wisdom teeth are often recommended for removal with the opposing lower wisdom teeth as they may often be teeth that continue to erupt with no support from a lower tooth. If the upper wisdom teeth are in a functional position, aiding your chewing efficiency, and not contributing to a periodontal or hygiene problem, they may not be indicated for removal. Your surgeon can advise you.

OS is correct: If the opposing lower wisdom tooth has to be extracted, the upper wisdom tooth should be removed to prevent it from causing problems due to over-eruption.
