Fluconazole?: It's difficult or impossible to eliminate yeast, which is normal in the intestines, genital tract, etc. The key is not to get rid of it, but prevent overgrowth and symptoms. Ask your doc about oral fluconazole (DiflucanĀ®) 150 mg once a week, usually effective in preventing recurrent yeast. If the other problem is bacterial vaginosis, that also can often be prevented with MetroGel or boric acid.
