Very small: the chance of atrophy after a successful surgery is very small the chance of recurrent retraction of the testicle is very small what we do worry about is the chance of testicular cancer, which is higher in patient with undesceded testicles the younger the corrective surgery is carried out the lesser the chance. the patient would be on life time surveillance for testicular cancer.
