Magnesium: I think that some form of magnesium taken orally is the best short term relief for constipation. The magnesium draws water into your colon and softens your stool. Get some milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide) and take 1-2 TBS with a large glass of water. May repeat in 12 hours. Make sure that you are getting plenty of fiber and fluid I your diet.
