?infection: The yellow drainage may indicate an infected cyst, ingrown hair or a boil type infection. You may have developed an allergic or a primary irritation reaction to the silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) and I would discontinue it. Apply warm water packs and have a physician evaluate you for diagnosis and treatment.

Needs to be seen: by an expert. The appearance of a healing burn can be deceiving to the untrained eye. Sometimes when the burn looks worse to the patient, it is healing well. There is a high risk of infection with burns and burns should be evaluated frequently by a doctor experienced in the treatment of burns. Silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) can cause rash which can become serious. This should be evaluated by a doctor.
