Get checked: Best to get it checked. Likely occlusal trauma causing ligament to become inflamed and sore to percussion. May need occlusal adjustment (bite adjustment) to correct contact location and intensity. Does it have a crown ?? If not , you may need to consider one , lest you split the tooth. Good Luck.

Evaluation: Have the tooth evaluated by the dentist or endodontist who completed the root canal therapy. There may be a residual infection. Hard to say without an examination.

Failed root canal?: Many factors can lead to root canal failure, as the root canal system of your tooth can be complex. See your dentist for consultation and x-rays.

Most Common: Reasons for failed root canals are not completing root canal treatment - often takes multiple appointments, not having a crown placed on the tooth, or that tooth is hitting too hard against opposing tooth. There are other reasons (vertical fracture can happen even if crowned) Follow-up with your general dentist or endodotist to see cause and find solution.
