Can't say: That is impossible to say without a detailed history of your mom's health, what medicines she takes, her diet and habits, and the triggers. This could be an esophagus or stomach infection, heartburn, stricture in the esophagus, bleeding/ulcer, or any one of several more serious conditions. She needs a full evaluation by a doctor in person including tests and labs.
