I get lactic acid in my shins, just from walking whats happening to me and what should i do?

Shin splints: These are a form of muscle strain where calf muscles connect to the shin (tibial bone). Like tendonitis, it can take time to heal when it gets started (usually related to excess activity when you're just getting started without warming up adequately). Alternating ice/heat, ibuprofen, stretching before work-outs will gradually heal this over 2-3 weeks. Good shoes will help too!
