Viral infection: and musculo-skletal pain. An upper respiratory tract infection or a cold can inflame your cervical lymphonode. It gradually goes down after your cold or URI is over. The neck and shoulder pain could be due to sleeping on your left side. Take advil (ibuprofen) for the pain. It can take up to 10 days to get over the pain.
