Yes: Breast feeding provides protection from disease but close contact with a baby if you have a cold will not prevent the spread of a virus to the baby. Careful hand washing and wearing a mask will help but often the baby is already exposed to the virus before you know you are sick. All the best and I hope the baby does not get sick.
