Supervised work: A Psychology Intern will assess and counsel clients while being evaluated and supervised by the Psychologist he works with. But why not ask your brother? He can explain it in more detail.

Psych interns: Psychologists complete internships as part of their training. Typically programs are one year. Interns practice under the supervision of licensed professionals and their responsibilities may include psychological testing, therapy, family therapy. Much depends on their placement and their supervisor.

Depends: Each placement is different depending on the level of education the intern has, and the population of the placement. Typically, psychology interns shadow a supervisor during their regular daily duties. Sometimes, depending on the level of experience/education of the intern, the intern can independently provide some services such as individual/group therapy.
