Instructions: The instructions your surgeon gave you should be strictly followed. Rinsing may dislodge the medicated dressings, but if that's what your surgeon told you to do, then follow his/her directions.

You should: It is recommended to use a warm saline rinse (3-4X/day) to clean your mouth, and you should refrain from using tobacco products, spicy foods and alcohol.
