Thyroid disease: Problems that can be assumed related to the thyroid and later found to be a different diagnosis include anemia, sleep apnea, heart disease, cushing's syndrome, kidney disease. Abnormalities of the thyroid can have many symptoms so there are many overlapping conditions that can have similar symptoms.
