What illnesses can be misdiagnosed as depression please?i was misdiagnosed with it twice & my daughters been told depression but anti-d's haven't helped (it isn't anaemia or thyroid as she had tests)

Depression: The most notorious illness causing depression is cancer of the pancreas in addition to pospartum depression.

Need more info: Depending on her symptoms, that would help decide what other diagnosis might be for example, if she is tired all the time, than as you already noted-anemia or thyroid disease, ...Viral infections such as ebv/mono, hepatitis, etc, low blood pressure, hypoglycemia, etc. Could all be investigated. If need be, re-ask the question, with her symptoms, and some docs may be able to help more. God luck.
