Yes: A complete initial evaluation is warranted. There are some persons with known diseases - diagnoses who have chronic low hematocrit. Renal failure, Hemoglobinopathies, are some examples. Bone marrow suppression and vitamin deficiencies and other conditions may require major treatments.
