Unbearable itch from sandfly bites woke me up at midnight, i've been taking 180mg telfast in am, phenergan (promethazine) at night - not enough. can i increase dose?

Steroid?: Antihistamine does not usually work well in controlling the itching from an insect bite. Topical cortisone may but often only Rx strength cortisone is needed. See your doctor. The older antihistamine works by causing sedation .
