Anterior thigh: I have found that the anterior thigh muscles seem to atrophy over the years and this phenomena is accompanied by knee pain. Squats and leg lifts are good ways to start strengthening these muscle. Walk backwards up hill and feel you anterior thigh muscles burn and this will let you know how weak they are. Strengthen muscles around joint to fight arthritis.
