Depends: It depends on a great many things; it depends on what the viral load of the infected patient is, if they are on active treatment. It depends on the nature of the sexual contact, whether it is oral, vaginal, or anal. The more exposure with higher viral load to areas that may have lesions, or the presence of existing other stds that compromise mucosal integrity, increase transmission risk.
