Urgent matter: Likely. Depends of depth of the bone, but this is an urgent matter as infections in the throat can travel quickly and become serious. Imaging may be required to visualize location of the bone before it can be removed (which the dentist may not be set up to do).

90+% Yes: That sounds like an easy task for a dentist. However, there are a few dentist who don't like doing ANY surgery, even something simple like this. If that's the case with your dentist, then he/she will most likely refer you to an oral surgeon. If you want to be absolutely 100% sure that it can be handled, speak to your dentist's receptionist first. If in doubt, just call an oral surgeon. Good luck!

Yes: If inaccessible, Dentist will refer you to Oral Surgeon. Please call your Dentist now. This is one of the reasons that my favorite fish is sirloin.
