If you have: Trouble breathing, yes you should go to the hospital. But gastritis shouldn't cause trouble breathing. Even GERD may cause heartburn and pain behind your breastbone, but it shouldn't cause trouble breathing. Please get evaluated by a doctor in the ER if you have trouble breathing.
