A member asked:

I have a toenail that was painful nd dark gray colored, i looked under it and discovered it wasnt attached to the nailbed and was brown, what do i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Truama or fungal nai: Discoloration may be due to fungal nail changes causing excessive sublingual debris vs trauma induced. For example certain activities may cause bleeding under the nail or dry blood. If in the tip and drains out it causes automatic desertion of the nail. If no sorrow ding redness or swelling it's not urgent but should be looked at. Likely cause usually fungal nail or trauma
