Thyroid nodules: This is a very common finding, and the fact that it is small suggests lower risk. Usually under 1 cm they don't bother to biopsy, but perhaps with an enlarged LN in the area it might need it. Fine Needle aspiration biopsy can be safely and easily done perhaps with US guidance and a pathologist to evaluate the sample to ensure it is sufficient and triaged to the appropriate next steps.
